
Rainwater Harvesting Campaign
The biggest challenge of the area in working is to do proper management of rainwater on rugged and craggy land. Despite heavy rainfall, average 1600mm annually; the area often faces the problem of food deficit, hunger deaths, malnutrition amongst women & children etc. It is because there is no any such habit developed to manage the rainwater of the area. Hence the organization decided to unite the people of the drought-prone area. Under this action, 40 villages were selected and a committee named ‘Jal Biradari’ formed in each & every village which will lead to the entire community on the prime issues of rainwater harvesting & management, decadence of forest, function of gram sabha, rural employment, proper health and education amongst the women & children, acquaintance & utilization of various government’s schemes and alike social problems. This movement is being accelerated without any other financial support since August 2004 and this movement has crossed various milestones/achievements so far.
